Abstract | This publication presents eight Fact Sheets including a three-step approach: identifying most common Worst Practices in the recovery of secondary metals (ranging from uncontrolled collecting practices to uncontrolled disposal practices), understanding the impacts and taking steps to beginning new Good Practices. They were developed as a response to growing concerns of local and international communities on the severity of impacts to the environment and workers’ health due to the use of Worst Practices in e-waste recycling in developing nations.
The development process of these Fact Sheets was supported by the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) Program and by a group of international experts. |
